about the coalition
The Massachusetts Coalition for Jobs and Growth was formed with the goal of passing resort-style casino legislation in Massachusetts. We share Governor Patrick's goal of constructing three resort-style casinos in the Commonwealth that, once completed, will create tens of thousands of jobs and provide a new source of much-needed revenue to our cities and towns. See the list of our coalition members below, or click here to join.
This Coalition will be broad-based and recruit statewide stakeholders and local partners to organize groups, associations, and citizens around messages in support of:
-
Generating new public revenues essential to alleviating a state structural budget deficit of over $1 billion, and to ensure increased local aid to every city and town to support teachers, fire fighters, police officers and other public services;
-
Creating profound and sustainable job growth statewide;
-
Providing revenue critical to infrastructure improvements, repairs and maintenance;
-
Generating $400 million in goods and services purchased from small and medium-sized businesses; and
-
Growing the state's tourism, hospitality and convention and meeting sectors.
